Current Grants

The DHEC Office of Solid Waste Reduction and Recycling is offering K-12 schools the opportunity to apply for funding from the Recycling Education Grant Program.
The grant program is available to schools to encourage the development of hands-on projects that teach the importance of source reduction and recycling. Grant funds may be used for the purchase of equipment to support school recycling and/or composting, share table supplies, stadium recycling and recycling related field trips.
Schools may request up to $1,500. Grant applications for the 2018-2019 school year are being accepted until September 30, 2018. One grant application per school will be considered. Priority will be given to school that did not receive a grant last school year.
A copy of the instructions and application packet is below. To request a hard copy of the application, please e-mail SWGRANTS@DHEC.SC.GOV or call 1-800-768-7348.
